Babcock Ranch, FL – March 6, 2025 – American Legion Post 415 is proud to announce the selection of two juniors from Babcock High School as Delegates to the 2025 Florida Boys State program. Max Krenek and Nathan Garrett will be the first-ever students from Babcock High School to attend this prestigious event, which will take place from June 15-23 at Florida State University in Tallahassee.

Boys State, a highly esteemed program established in 1935, is dedicated to teaching young men about the rights, duties, and responsibilities of citizenship. Sponsored by the American Legion, it provides participants with hands-on experience in government by allowing them to form a mock state government, hold elections, and engage in legislative processes. The program has a long history of developing future leaders, with notable alumni including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, and astronaut Neil Armstrong.

Andy Balch, Post 415 Boys State Committee member, expressed confidence in the chosen delegates, stating, “We could not have selected two finer candidates in Max and Nathan to represent the community, their high school, and Post 415. It will be an experience of a lifetime.”

Max Krenek is an academic standout with a strong interests in civics and government. He aspires to pursue a career in the medical field and plans to further his education in college possibly in conjunction with serving in the military.

Nathan Garrett also excels academically and is a member of the National Honor Society. He has demonstrated leadership and versatility through his involvement in the high school tennis team, movie and video workshops, and various community service initiatives.

Florida Boys State is known for shaping the leaders of tomorrow, and American Legion Post 415 is honored to support these exceptional young men on their journey. The Post congratulates Max and Nathan and looks forward to seeing the impact they will make through this remarkable opportunity.
